A Christian is someone who has trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior. It's that simple. People think that getting to heaven is some long, drawn-out process in which you have to try and follow the Ten Commandments or be a do-gooder or go to church or tithe or something. But it's really not complicated at all. See, Salvation isn't about getting to God on our own terms or pulling ourselves up by our own bootstraps, it's about God reaching down to us and offering us salvation free of charge. We can't get to heaven on our own terms, we can only get there by His terms. God demands no less than perfection, and only perfect people get to go to heaven. So, I guess none of us would make it, right? Wrong. God has provided a way to impart perfection to our account, and that perfection is available only through God's Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only One worthy of heaven, and only He can give us perfection through the perfect life He lived, and His payment for our sin at Calvary, and through His resurrection three days later. Jesus Christ forgives us from all the sins we've ever committed and comes to live on the inside of us. He's Someone who will never leave you and will always love you. It's a no-lose deal. It's pretty simple. All you ever have to do is trust Him and ask Him to come into your life. That's what a Christian is.
Following is some selected verses from the Bible that will give you a greater understanding of what God thinks about your salvation.
